A French tradition brought to New Orleans in 1870, a little charm known as the feve was tucked inside of each King Cake. Originally these charms were simply a fava bean that, through time evolved into a wide variety of porcelain figures and then into the mass-produced plastic babies you see today.
This fave is an ode to the past!
